In mid 2018, while drinking a cup of ‘conventional’ coffee with Jarret Stopforth, a Food Microbiologist PhD, he shared his idea “I think it’s possible to create the perfect cup of coffee without the bean.” As a serial entrepreneur and looking for my next adventure that was also better for the planet, I dug in further. After researching coffee’s troubling past and problematic future (deforestation and carbon footprint, to name a few) I knew I had found The Next Big Thing that could absolutely have a positive impact on the environment and world around me.

Today, I’m fortunate to have strategic investors and talented employees, each dedicated to creating the future of coffee, that’s also better for the planet. The results? Atomo has launched our first line of 8 oz canned cold brew which generates 93% less carbon emissions per servings than conventional coffee - and causing zero deforestation. In blind taste tests between Atomo and legacy coffee, 7 out of 10 chose Atomo. Yes, our coffee is delicious and you can enjoy it knowing you are doing something better for the planet with every sip.

In pre-Atomo life, I pioneered the launch of the first internet wedding registry website, founded a mobile payments company (pre-iPhone), and spent time at Amazon and other ventures in the tech sector. I am on the advisory board for the University of Washington Burke Center for Entrepreneurship and in my spare time I love public speaking opportunities, boating and extreme hiking adventures.
