The 'expert' investing tech platform raised $7 million in a seed funding round co-led by Elevation Capital and Matrix Partners India, with participation from reputed investors such as Whiteboard Capital, Nath Ventures and Blume Founders Fund.

17 years of managing money for the wealthiest Indians, and I am still restless. Why?

First, some background.

As a son of two PSU bankers, importance of managing money well was clear to me (especially since we didn’t have much of it!). So when I graduated from IIM Bangalore, the path ahead was very clear. I wanted to work with people on their portfolios. Through multiple market cycles, I saw closely how investors made good and bad calls on their portfolios. This experience spanned geographies (setting up and running six offices for IIFL Wealth between 2008 — 2017) and businesses (founding and scaling IIFL-ONE to USD 3 bn in AUM).

So why then the restlessness?

The expertise that India’s ultra-wealthy have, is not available to majority of Indians — folks like my friends, my parents and me. And without that expertise, we either end up not investing, or investing ad-hoc. The result: poor long-term returns that hold our aspirations back, or hurt us in a very volatile world.

dezerv. is our attempt to solve for this, and brings together the decades of experience that my co-founders, my team and I have.

Today, dezerv. is an expert-led, wealth creation platform that serves thousands of working professionals through its unique Integrated Portfolio Approach (IPA) which is build on our deep understanding of mutual funds, and modern portfolio science. We also bring curated, diligenced alternatives across fixed income and high growth opportunities. All this with one objective: multiplying capital over the long term.
