Hi! I’m Sam, Co-Founder & CEO of bitewell – the nutrition intelligence company on a mission to improve the world's health through food. We’re pioneering food as a healthcare benefit.

Armed with the knowledge that 75% of American medical costs stem from nutrition-related issues, bitewell's unique food-health marketplace enables employers to offer health benefits via their existing food budget.

Before founding bitewell, I earned a BFA in Drama from NYU. I attribute a big part of my success to my leadership style – which merges active empathy (honed during my acting studies) with radical transparency (adopted from my time at Bridgewater).

My interest in food's impact on health is decades long. Born into an Italian-American family in New Jersey, my family’s kitchen table was the heart and soul of my childhood. During the late ’90s & early 2000s, my sister, my cousins, and I developed food allergies and intolerances that restricted the food we could enjoy. Instead of having a reductionist mindset on food, my grandmother retooled generations-old recipes to fit my family's (many) dietary needs.

I empathize with the millions of people who struggle with dietary issues & food restrictions. With the same care that my grandmother applied to help my family navigate the complicated labyrinth of dietary ailments, I’m determined to help the world navigate improved health through food.
