I began my professional career in 1996 with Berkeys, an HVAC and plumbing business based in South Texas. I purchased Berkeys in 1996 with a $10,000 loan from my father-in-law.

Not having much experience in the trades allowed me to look outside of the box as I grew the company.

The first thing I did was cleaned up our image as plumbers. Implemented other time saving strategies and had weekly training meetings. These things seem ordinary now but no other companies were doing this at the time. We always kept ourselves ahead of our competition.

One thing I learned at Berkeys was -->> Dispatchers are pulled in every direction... by technicians, CSRs, managers, owners, customers & support staff.
