Entrepreneur Alex Housley has been founding and building technology companies since 2003 across mobile, data, and machine learning (ML). Most recently, he founded ML software startup Seldon back in 2014, after recognising the benefits that ML could bring to organisations.

Having experienced first-hand the challenges of scaling model deployment infrastructure in a recommendation engine serving billions of personalised news article recommendations, Alex created Seldon with the goal of democratising ML to solve the world’s most pressing problems. The company builds market-leading tools that improve business performance and manage risk.

Seldon is also one of the first AI startups to develop an open-source language-agnostic ML deployment platform and is building the global infrastructure for ML operations, across serving, monitoring and explainability. As CEO, Alex directs the company strategy and leads a world-class leadership team shaping the future of MLOps. He is also responsible for securing funding from leading Venture Capitalists and angel investors.

Seldon’s technology has gone on to underpin model deployment projects at some of the world’s largest companies, including Intel, Capital One, IBM, J&J, Rakuten, and Ford. Since its inception, Seldon has received more than nine million installs of its products and has 7,000 active open source customers, with close to three million models having been deployed.
