Beyond founding a startup, I’ve always been competitive and an avid sports fan. My fanaticism has consistently outweighed my athleticism (as a vertically challenged person… always a fan, rarely a player). Between being a Duke Blue Devil and a lifelong Knicks fan, I’ve had my fair share of friendly wagers with anyone who would indulge me – friends, family members, colleagues, and my wife (she worked for the Duke basketball team, so she gets me). From NYC to NC to SF, you could find me betting 5 bucks here or a beer there; I consistently wanted to engage with the game beyond watching from the sidelines or a barstool.

With Lucra, we are building a social wagering platform that will change and energize how people engage with their favorite professional sports and players. You can wager big or small - the average wager on Lucra is $10 bucks - you decide the matchup, the amount and invite your friends. You don’t need to be worried about losing big - it’s not about the money (at least not completely about the money). Your wager will make the game or match more exciting for you to watch, and you get the added experience of the smack talk, whether it’s a friend who lives down the street or your sister who lives across the country.

When I’m not working my butt off to make the dream of Lucra a reality - you can find me drinking wine with family and friends, throwing darts in my apartment and celebrating “big shots” with no one watching, or eating an impossible burger and convincing myself it's real meat #highcholesterolproblems.
