The ability to visualize the big picture and implementing that are my greatest contributions to every business I’ve launched or team I’ve led. For over three decades I’ve applied this awareness with my expertise in risk assessment + technology to advise + invest in teams working towards developing technologies that revolutionize (re)insurance industry + weather forecasting.

My tenure in the insurance/reinsurance business started with helping build AIR, the first catastrophe risk modeling firm that created models to quantify catastrophe risk for insurance and reinsurance companies. I then joined Renaissance Reinsurance in its early days, where I created REMS, a reinsurance risk management, and pricing system. Regarded as a pioneer in the industry, I was surrounded by talented teams of analysts to build a technology-driven solution that changed the way the industry functions, bringing it into the 21st century.

As part of the executive team, I contributed to TigerRisk Partners’ growth from a startup to a dominant reinsurance brokerage + capital market advisory firm. Specially I led the analytics and technology team in creating and commercializing three new disruptive tech platforms. I was a lead negotiator for a joint venture formation for TigerRisk’s partners innovative electronic placement platform that I helped create.

My knowledge and experience in cat risk management, led me to launch a weather forecasting company, Weather Predict. We had a proven track record of providing superior weather forecasts, including short term hurricane direction + intensity forecast along with other weather forecasts. We played a major role in creating a financial market to hedge weather risk for multiple businesses

As a mentor, senior advisor + investor, I have the privilege of supporting businesses that not only provide great services but who do so with a conscious mindset towards our planet and its future.

The culmination of my career + my passion for environmental sustainability came full circle when I co-founded ImpactKarma with my son, Kedar. We equip consumers with credible + transparent information about the environmental + social impacts of the companies they support.
