Previously co-founded and former Chairman/CEO of AuthenTec, a leading provider of fingerprint sensor and security solutions, acquired by Apple in October, 2012 (only public company ever acquired by Apple). The AuthenTec technologies are now the foundation of the Touch ID. Raised over $70 million in venture capital (including such investors as The Carlyle Group, Texas Instruments, Sierra Ventures, Stonehenge Growth Capital and others), led the company’s successful IPO in 2007 (NASDAQ) and recruited an excellent management team. Helped grow company from the two co-founders to over 300 employees with development centers in Melbourne, Fl., Shanghai, China and Vught, The Netherlands.
Prior to founding AuthenTec, was the Vice President of a $200 million division of Harris Semiconductor (later Intersil, now Renesas Intersil) where started as a new grad engineer (Operations) in 1980. Led successful turnaround of several diverse operations including the commodity logic business (sold to TI), the acquisition GE Microelectronics, and turnaround of the Group's Mil/Aero business.
