Matt Theurer United States - Germantown, Maryland

Matt Theurer has been designing and deploying IT solutions for over 30 years, architecting technical and IT solutions to solve real world challenges for companies ranging in size from tens of users to tens of thousands of users.
Matt began his career working for the Federal Government designing “Smart” building solutions and went on to become a senior systems engineer and project manager for CIS Global and VirtuaLogic, Inc.
In 2001, Matt co-founded Brigh Technologies, Inc. specializing in Disaster Recovery and highly available systems architectures where he served as President and CIO.
In 2009, Matt sold Brigh Technologies to Virtustream, a start-up cloud service provider and joined Virtustream as a co-founder. During his tenure at Virtustream, Matt served in a variety of roles. These include running professional services, full responsibility for the core IaaS business, working regularly with marketing, building a global pre-sales organization, running Product Management, and most recently, running Innovation and R&D. In 2015, he and his fellow co-founders sold Virtustream to EMC for $1.2Bn. Matt subsequently stayed at Virtustream assisting in the integration into EMC. After Dell bought EMC in 2016, Matt continued to assist in the integration into Dell Technologies. Virtustream remained as one of Dell Technologies core brands.

Matt left Virtustream/Dell in 2018. After finishing his Masters’ at MIT, Matt worked with a variety of companies advising and consulting, with a focus on cutting edge, AI/ML powered solutions.
In October 2021, Matt joined Beep, Inc. as the eVP of Service Delivery. Beep provides autonomous mobility services as Mobility-as-a-Service. MaaS provides turnkey mobility networks for scheduled and on-demand transportation using autonomous micro-shuttles. Matt was responsible for all aspects of day-to-day operations of Beep. Matt officially left Beep in December 2022.
Matt took on the role of CEO at HyperSpectral in October 2022.
Matt studied Electrical Engineering with a focus in Computer Hardware design at the University of Maryland at College Park and received his B.S. in December of 1992. Matt received his MBA from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2019. Matt is also an instrument-rated private pilot and can be found cruising the skies in his beloved Bonanza A36 when work allows.
