I’m an inventor, product designer, and serial entrepreneur driven by a passion for creating elegant solutions to real-world challenges. Over the course of my career, I’ve secured more than 300 patents and launched multiple companies built on breakthroughs in thermal science, LED lighting, and life sciences.

I currently serve as Founder and Chairman of Ember, where our innovations — the Ember Mug, Ember Baby Bottle and Ember Cube — have each been named TIME Magazine Best Inventions of the Year. Ember was also recognized as one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies in the world.

Ember started as a personal challenge — how do you keep breakfast warm? That simple question ultimately led to a global temperature-control brand now found in more than 4,500 retail locations across 27 countries.

Seeing the potential for even greater impact, I founded Ember LifeSciences. We’re redefining global medicine distribution by leveraging Ember’s proprietary temperature control technology to improve the way we transport life-saving medicines and vaccines around the world. This vision led to the creation of the Ember Cube — the world’s first self-refrigerated, cloud-based shipping box designed to save lives, improve patient outcomes and reduce waste.

My entrepreneurial journey began at 23, when I founded Radiance Lightworks, which has since grown into one of the nation’s leading lighting design firms, serving clients such as Universal Studios, Disney and Google. A few years later I launched Journée Lighting, where I developed the world’s first LED track light and invented a new form of LED bulb technology that was later acquired and commercialized globally by GE as GE Infusion™.

Today, my focus is on continuing to expand Ember’s reach — from the way we enjoy a simple cup of coffee to how life-saving medicines are delivered across the globe.
