I am leading Nadia Care, a maternal health company on a mission to support mothers through every step of the pregnancy journey and after their baby is born. With a hybrid model that combines community-centered, in-home care and virtual support, Nadia Care provides support, including care coordination, benefit sign-up and navigation, lactation support, nutrition services, and education. This care model has proven results, including a meaningful reduction in low birth weight rates, NICU days and costs, postpartum depression, preterm birth rates, and emergency room visits.

How we leverage human capital, technology, analytics, and care design for a system that serves vulnerable communities in an increasingly value-driven payment environment is the conversation all of us should be having. How we develop a health system that is fiscally sustainable and responsive to a broad set of needs is a conversation too many are not having.

I am a student of history, literature, and cultures, and yet, I am drawn to lead in healthcare. But it is that broad perspective, and perhaps my own very American and multicultural background that attracts me to this field and makes me see that healthcare is almost never only about health: context is everything.
