After spending nearly a decade reading 700+ business books, consulting for 90+ organizations, and running 2 firms as CEO, I realized that one of the biggest challenges for companies is the lack of a master, integrated system for them to run on (on average, firms use between 7-12 different software platforms).

Software like SAP Business One and Oracle NetSuite attempt to provide this platform, but fall short in a number of ways (have you ever met anyone who loves to use either system?).

But implementing an integrated software system is not enough. There also needs to be a standardized management framework for that software to sit in in order for organizations to use it effectively. And that’s why I founded Digit: to help organizations grow by implementing an integrated software system within a standardized management framework.

The management framework is simple and has 6 components:
- Develop a clear and compelling core identity (purpose, mission, values)
- Formulate a strategy that lead to sustainable competitive advantage
- Obtain alignment to the strategy by everyone in the organization
- Execute towards the most important objectives and key results determined by the strategy
- Operate within a consistent meeting rhythm to drive accountability and review progress
- Learn from results and adjust strategy quickly if needed

The integrated software system has 3 components:
- Software applications that capture data and get work done (CRM, ERP, etc.)
- Master data warehouse that captures all data and information in one place
- Analytics suite that allows the business to understand what happened and why
