At the helm of Compact Membrane Systems (CMS) and on a mission to save the planet. We create technology to capture and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, avert global warming, and transform industry into a long term sustainable enterprise. One membrane system at a time. My role has been to deliver disruptive innovation: finding and building lines of business with multi-$B potential atop the company’s talent and novel membrane separation technology (hailed as “one of the separations to change the world” in Nature Vol. 532, 2016). Along the way, I’ve been responsible for shifting the culture, mindset, and operations from a domestic science-driven R&D lab to a globally-active, commercially successful organization. Today we’re characterized by robust in-house manufacturing capabilities, continued IP generation, and delivery and support of solutions at scale to the multinational industry titans that are our customers and strategic partners.

I’m an ex-economist turned CEO/operator by way of McKinsey & Co where I was responsible for bringing organizational transformation, operational excellence and measurable commercial results to global biopharma, medical products companies, and to McKinsey itself.

I enjoy breaking down and structuring messy business problems, quickly seeing the possible future states, and charting a path through the complexity to get there. This is a double-edged sword, and I’ve learned to respect the change, time, effort and investments in people and process that it takes to bring some of these solutions to reality. I’m working to make this talent a more broadly-available force for good by coaching other up-and-coming CxOs, startup founders, and educational organizations, sharing some of the best practices and wisdom I’ve developed over the years.
