Our founder, Annie Ryu, was working on a healthcare venture in rural India when she met Jack. She quickly realized that jackfruit was an underutilized miracle crop with the power to improve the lives of farming families, make our diets more sustainable, and offer a delicious meat alternative that's actually made from real plants.

So, jack & annie's was born. Every day, we help people eat less meat with more joy. And we're proud to say that our super-tasty, stellar-for-your-health-and-the-planet whole plant foods aren't "based" on anything.

I founded The Jackfruit Company to transform farmers’ lives, our eco-footprint, and the way we eat, for the better – by pioneering the world’s leading supply chain, R&D, and brands for jackfruit, a plant that (amazingly) eats just like meat.

I graduated first in my class at Harvard and left Harvard Medical School after realizing The Jackfruit Company was my right path to improve global health and nutrition.
