I am a FinTech Entrepreneur and Quant with 25+ years of experience. In 2016, I launched an exciting new Fintech venture: d1g1t. I am also an Adjunct Professor of Math Finance at the University of Toronto, and was until recently the 1st Director of the Centre for Financial Industries at the Fields Institute.

Originally incubated at the Fields Institute, d1g1t is a new digital wealth management platform, powered by advanced analytics and risk management tools, that enables firms to elevate the quality of advice & demonstrate its value to clients.

Stating my career in industry, I spent decade at Algorithmics leading Research and Financial Engineering, Products, Strategy & Marketing. After its acquisition in 2005, I co-founded R2 Financial Technologies, a successful Risk and Portfolio Management Tech firm serving multi-asset hedge funds, asset managers, banks and regulators across the world. As its CEO, I lead the company from inception to its acquisition by S&P Capital IQ in 2012, where I headed Portfolio Risk & Analytics until 2015.

In addition to building innovative Fintech products and working with numerous buy- and sell-side financial institutions around the world, I lecture extensively on financial engineering and entrepreneurship, portfolio management, enterprise risk and capital, credit, market risk, and derivatives. I have authored several patents and numerous publications, and I am in the editorial board of several industrial and academic journals. I currently serve in the Board of Directors of the Fields Institute, as well as in the Advisory Boards of Canada’s Institute Innovation Platform, Center for Advanced Financial Studies at U of Waterloo, iLead at UofT, Global Risk Institute, IAQF, and OSC's Launchpad. I was also one of the founders of the Professional Risk Management International Association (PRMIA) and its regional director in Toronto, and of RiskLab, an international network of Financial Engineering research centers.
