Still Bright is developing a patented hydrometallurgical process that enables the fastest conversion of concentrated copper ore to refined copper observed to date at room temperature and pressure. The rapid reaction rates and ambient conditions correlate to low capital costs and operating costs, respectively. The process leverages electrochemical technologies already prevalent in other industries to carry out the reaction chemistry. The conversion can also be 100% electrified and powered by renewable energy.
Still Bright's proprietary technology solves for the fact that global copper demand is rapidly growing, while production is detrimental to the environment and increasingly constrained.

My goal is to positively impact the world using scientific innovation, especially around climate change. I'm lucky to have had the chance to do this in past positions like Activate and Material Impact, and am even luckier to continue to be doing this now at Still Bright. By leveraging everything I learned at Tuck as well as my VC, market research, and entrepreneurial experiences, I can set up frameworks to help us navigate all the typical obstacles that hard tech startups face along the way. I can do so not just optimizing for VC-friendly returns and exit opportunities, but also to leave the lasting impact that we all are striving for. Being an investor is comfortable and impactful on a numbers basis, but actively engaging with all the tough decisions in a growing startup, that's where I can have a more active role in resolving the climate crisis and to exemplify the change that I want to see in the world.

Outside of work, you can find me learning how to enjoy the NYC/NJ area as a Philadelphian, finding ways to stay fit (chasing after toddlers goes a long way!), and trying to be the best husband and father I can be.

Past research areas: polymer chemistry, flexible electronics, bioelectronic medicines, 3D printing, nanotechnology (CNTs and graphene), and printed electronics.

Past consulting and project areas: semiconductor packaging, plastic recycling, marine biodegradable plastics, plant-based proteins, vegan alternatives, cell-based meat, sustainable textiles, synthetic diamonds, sustainable mining of critical minerals.
