Shoreline provides real-time automation and control for cloud operations.

Operations teams are under pressure to deliver higher and higher standards of availability, but this is impossible to achieve by fixing incidents manually. Achieving high availability requires automated remediation, but today automating fixes can take months.

There’s got to be a better way.

Shoreline makes it easy for operators to create automated remediations for well-known issues. You define the behavior for a single host, and Shoreline scales it out across your fleet, dealing with network faults, propagating configs, handling failures, and auditing execution.

Anything you can type at the Linux command prompt, including calls to your cloud provider, Kubernetes CLI, or your own shell scripts, you can orchestrate with Shoreline. Think Splunk without lag and with the ability to take action on your system.

Shoreline’s approach is built on the experience of operators who built automations to ensure the reliability of millions of instances at major cloud providers.

I am the founder/CEO of Shoreline.io. We help SREs reduce the undifferentiated heavy lifting in their jobs so they can focus on improving their systems. We do this by making it easy to automate the incidents that repeatedly occur, have well-understood remediations, but currently require significant manual labor. For new incidents, we provide SREs the ability to do real-time fleet-wide debugging and repair, avoiding the need to SSH into one box after the next. If your team struggles to keep up with tickets as your fleet grows, send me a message - perhaps we can help.

Prior to Shoreline, I spent 7.5 years at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where I ran their analytic and relational database services. Managing services deployed on millions of nodes while ticketing on a per-instance basis taught me the importance of distributed control and automation. Before AWS, I did a mix of engineering management and technology leadership roles across systems software and application companies of various sizes. What was consistent across these was a bias towards high-growth environments, early-version products, and deep IP.
