I’m an entrepreneur passionate about making the global food system sustainable. I founded the biotechnology startup Shiru to make delicious, nutritious, sustainable, and scalable ingredients so that all food companies on Earth -- from hot new brands to multinational incumbents -- can quickly develop plant-based products.

Our team includes biochemists, data scientists, business development professionals and others who want to help solve the biggest threats facing humanity: global warming, biodiversity collapse, and our public health crisis. We share a mission and sense of urgency -- that’s why we raised money, hired a world-class team, built an R&D lab and released our ingredients catalog within 12 months… in the midst of a global pandemic.

In addition to my work as CEO and Founder of Shiru, I’m a mom, a 2019 graduate of Y Combinator, former Director of Food Chemistry at JUST, and a former summer associate for VC firm Lux Capital. I have a doctorate in protein engineering from New York University, a Masters of Science in Materials Engineering from Chalmers University, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Biotechnology from McGill University.
