Building at the frontier of embodied intelligence.

We’re currently in stealth and working with select partners as we prepare for public launch.

If you’re excited about hard problems, first-principles thinking, and building category-defining systems, we’d love to hear from you.

I’m interested in building companies around problems that are big enough to matter.

Throughout my career I’ve been drawn to areas where the underlying technology shift is large, the problems are hard, and the potential impact is measured in entire industries rather than individual products.

That has led me to work across several waves of deep technology — from optical networking to advanced energy storage to artificial intelligence in the physical world.

Most recently I cofounded Rhoda, where we are building a new class of AI system designed to operate in the real world. We believe the next frontier of intelligence is physical: systems that can perceive, reason, and act in dynamic environments rather than just process symbolic information like language. These embodied intelligent systems need to be able to work not just in controlled lab settings but in the messiness of the real world -- one of the hardest unsolved problems in robotics.

Previously I cofounded and served as CEO of QuantumScape, a company developing solid-state batteries for electric vehicles. Before that I cofounded and led Infinera, which pioneered large-scale photonic integrated circuits for optical networking infrastructure. I’ve also been involved in building companies including Lightera (acquired by Ciena) and Raxium (acquired by Google).

Across these efforts, the same principles apply: start with a massive problem, pursue a deeply differentiated technological approach, build an exceptional team, and prove the idea in the real world.
