SUCCESSFUL EXIT TO TOP THREE CABLE PROVIDER. Former Co-Founder and CEO of RapidScale, a managed cloud service provider, acquired by Cox Communications on August 8, 2018. I co-founded the Irvine, CA/Raleigh, NC-based business in 2010 and with just $2.3M of invested capital (seed investors included: Jim Perry, Managing Director Madison Dearborn, Zaid Alsikafi, Managing Director Madison Dearborn, Paul Johan, Partner Ballast Point Ventures, Drew Graham, Partner Ballast Point Ventures, Kevin Costello former President of Ariba Networks an SAP Company, Marvin Wheeler former COO of Terremark Data Centers and President of Cybraics, Jim Patterson former President of Sprint Wholesale and Scott Luttrell, President of LCM Group), built a robust channel partner network to grow the business (58% CAGR 2015-2018) into one of the nation’s leading privately-owned providers of managed and hybrid managed cloud solutions to both SMB and small enterprise clients. I was a Channel Partners Advisory Board member in 2009 and led strategic IT shared spend capital investment projects for Alaris Consulting now PwC.

BACK TO BUILDING. Boy, did I miss doing what I love doing, which is building a great company. On November 1st, 2022, I partnered with Andrew Laughter to purchase https://mercurycom.com/ based in Dallas, Texas. The company has been providing superior voice and network service to its customers in Dallas and throughout the US for more than 40 years. This is the first of multiple planned transactions en route to building a Global IT Procurement and Management company backed by a leading Private Equity group.

THE WHY. After founding, building, and selling RapidScale to Cox Communications in 2018, I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my career in IT Sourcing, Procurement and Management (the channel). Since selling RapidScale, I have been advising a leading Private Equity company on the agent channel and the TSB space. The body of work, time and energy put in over the last 2+ years with the equity company and with leading business minds in the space has brought me to a point of intentionality and focus on the end game in the space.

What makes this build so special is that I will be building it with Andrew Laughter, Dylan Bouterse, William Hiatt and the many other leaders and former employees we are excited to build with again.

I have a people, process and systems based approach to building and running businesses. I graduated from Vanguard University, received a baseball scholarship and am a member of YPO Orange County.
