Building a company like Pleo has been very rewarding. For the first time, I've been able to solve my former-CFO-self's pain of centralised spending, procurement teams, and outdated tools. Instead, by offering smart company credit cards that automate expense reports for businesses, we've been able to simplify company spending for companies based all over Europe

Building a product in the spirit of transparency, trust, and delegation has been a motivating factor to also nurture a future of work culture within Pleo. This has encouraged us to look at organisational structures differently, to offer employee experiences that are simple and scalable, and to work asynchronously and with remotes from the beginning. Today, we're at a hyper growth stage with around 900 Pleo'ers, 60+ nationalities, with distributed teams across 20 markets (including remotes), and 8 localised offices.

Our hard work and dedication has been recognised by our investors supporting us with almost $500m and valuing Pleo at $4.7bn in the end of 2021. We have won international awards such as EY Entrepreneur of the Year, Global Startup of the Year, Fintech of the Year and Pioneer of the Year. I have also been listed on the Nordic 100's most impactful and influential figures in the Nordic tech scene.

When I'm not building Pleo, I'm an angel investor in startups in Europe and US focused on business software and fintech, and am an advisor to private equity funds and portfolio companies, or on a stage speaking at international payments, accounting, fintech and digital innovation conferences.
