I was born into construction. Like many kids who worked with their parents at a young age, I wanted to grow up to do just about anything else. So I went as far away as I could imagine: technology.

Struggling to find the gratification his father exuded when rolling a shopping cart through Walmart to check for the flatness of a decade-old floor pour, I returned to the family company to seek a better fit. It was immediately apparent that the intersection of construction and technology was where I belonged. I led the construction firm for 4 years, while developing software solutions internally. One of those solutions, focused on engaging foreman in the 4D process through VR headsets, was accepted into the Techstars Accelerator program in 2017.

Grit went on to be acquired in 2020, after which I joined a Bay Area startup to take a look at a new problem in the built world, earthwork balancing.

In October of 2021, I teamed up with High Alpha Innovation to put his passion to work, introducing a new form factor of construction communications. PLOT is reimagining how software is built around frontline workers to connect the construction universe.
