I like to turn big ideas into revolutionary technologies.

I started my career as a core developer on the industry-leading open source intrusion detection system, Snort, co-authoring the Snort 2.0 framework. I received six patents in the areas of advanced network protocols, high-speed multi-pattern matching, and attack tree reasoning. At DARPA, I created the vision, built the research team, and started the development of DARPA's foundational cyberwarfare program, Plan X. I directed teams from top universities, research, software, and design firms in fields as diverse as large-scale data modeling, program analysis, augmented reality, and mobile network topologies to build prototypes that shape the future.

I like to build and work with high-performance, cross-discipline teams that focus on rapid prototyping.

I helped build five successful technology startups - many acquired by Fortune 500 companies: Sourcefire (NASDAQ:FIRE, acquired by Cisco), Network Security Wizards (acquired by Siemens), Security Innovation Government Solutions (acquired by Raytheon), Alphatech (acquired by BAE Systems), Subspace (a global low-latency network for video games), and OpenSea (the world's leading NFT marketplace).

I like to grow companies that define industries.

In the space industry, I was the VP of Software Engineering at SpaceX, where I led a team of ~350 engineers building all things software, from rockets and spaceships to the Starlink satellite network. In the Web3 industry, I led engineering at Opensea, building and scaling the largest NFT marketplace in the world. In the video game industry, I built and led a team at Riot Games that delivered a new client desktop platform and League of Legends UI, the largest video game on the planet.
