Raised by a family of entrepreneurs – maternal grandfather founded two universities in Japan, father had advertising and printing businesses, and mother an import/export business for construction materials. Immediately after graduating high school, he moved to Seattle to work as a systems engineer and freelance web developer during the dot-com bubble era of the late 1990s. After deepening his engineering skills, Jun returned to Japan to focus on engineering and graphic design.

He later became a serial entrepreneur, founding several companies, including LIFEmee, a social network company. Jun has received several distinguished industry awards and was nominated as a finalist at the Silicon Valley pitch competition TechCrunch 50.

In 2013, with long-time friend Ezra Don Harinsut, he moved to Thailand and co-founded Omise Payment – a payment platform catering to the Southeast Asia market.

In 2015, he joined the advisory board of Ethereum, which is the second biggest blockchain-based network in the world. In 2017, after over a year of research and development, Jun launched a blockchain division, OmiseGo (exited in 2020).
