Mykor is pioneering the future of sustainable construction with advanced biotechnologies that prioritise both planetary and human health. By engineering high-performance insulative building systems from industrial residues, green chemistry, and biotechnology, Mykor offers a compelling alternative to traditional masonry and timber frames. These next-generation systems are designed with low embodied carbon and enhanced thermal and acoustic performance, addressing the pressing need for climate-conscious construction solutions.

Targeting the 40% of global carbon emissions linked to both embodied and operational carbon in buildings, Mykor’s products are tailored to meet evolving regulatory demands for improved fire safety and reduced environmental impact. As construction standards shift towards more sustainable practices, Mykor stands at the forefront, scaling technologies that not only decarbonise the built environment but also elevate the performance, safety, and resilience of the spaces we inhabit.

Co-Founder & CEO of Mykor, the first company to scale mycelium into high-performance construction systems. A new category of regenerative construction materials—where cost, performance, human health, and climate resilience align at scale.

When I worked in architecture, I discovered that over 92% of construction products harm people and/or the planet... and there were no scalable, affordable alternatives. So, in 2022, we founded Mykor, to address this core market failure. In just three years, we’ve developed a biotechnology platform to enable general contractors to transition to the bio-manufacturing era. One of our products includes MykoSIP™ acoustic wall systems:

180% reduction in embodied carbon
2x sound insulation performance
10% cheaper for clients, while doubling margins

This has secured $500M in Offtake agreements with leading European contractors as we scale production from our Portuguese pilot plant to factories globally.

Having worked with bio-based construction for over a decade, past projects include Portugal’s first large-scale hempcrete residential developments, hempcrete block production, and developing bio-based interior tiles for LVMH.

Mycelium doesn’t separate itself from its network; it thrives because it belongs. Humans are no different. When we stop separating ourselves from nature, we begin to design futures that are not only possible but profoundly livable: socially, economically, and environmentally.
