In 2016, our founder was rolling through the middle of nowhere - sleep and rest were filling his thoughts. Not because he wanted to stop - but more - thinking about the importance of a good nights sleep and how ithas an effect on everything you do.

With the tent calling and the family ready to rally, is a good nights sleep possible? Let’s be real. The ground can be mean. You wake up bent and cranky more often than not.

How are you supposed to enjoy the great outdoors starting your day like that? The short answer is - you don’t.

We want to fix that.

Our vision is built around the idea that the more comfortable you are when you sleep in the great outdoors – the greater your experience will be.

Our mission is make a mattress that turns tents, cars and vans into the same sleep haven as home.

How do we do it? By combining a bazillion years of design and product knowledge into practical and beautiful solutions for the outdoor audience.

Why should you believe us? We are dirt bags at heart and are outside at every opportunity. We live, eat and breath the outdoor experience. As life rolls on we noticed that the ground got a little bit harder. The tent started to come out of the gear shed a little less and rather than the usual rally cry to go – we were pausing. All because of an uncomfortable nights sleep.

So what do you tell your neighbors and friends?

“Hest makes premium products to make the great outdoors greater.Their first offering is a sleep system designed to turn your tent, car or van into the same sleep haven as home.”

Dreamers wanted. You in?

I most enjoy the business of design and the competitive advantage a company can create through creativity and innovation.

It was in the Tetons that I found a calling for product design. Developing avalanche backpacks and backcountry ski poles, I learned the connection between design and function alongside friends pushing into the backcountry and wading into the rivers. I then spent the next 18 years designing products for K2, introducing innovations across many categories and brands. Most importantly, I learned the skills and expertise to design and deliver exceptional products to customers.

I am passionate about creating beautiful and useful products to bring joy and balance to the world.
