HEO Robotics creates satellite-to-satellite imagery and provides intelligence that enables assessment of the status, operation, and anomalous behaviour of objects in orbit, empowering decision-makers to act with confidence in space and on Earth. We currently serve government, defence and commercial customers in Australia, USA, and UK.

Through HEO Inspect, our proprietary satellite imaging and analytics generation software, our customers can easily access information that was not available to them before. By combining satellite-to-satellite imagery with HEO Inspects comprehensive analytics, we enable our customers to free up resources and make rapid decisions with confidence to care for objects that matter.

Currently we leverage 38 Earth Observation satellites to conduct in-orbit inspections in LEO. We developed Holmes, a telescopic space camera, to extend our coverage beyond LEO and provide better insights for our customers. Holmes will be deployed as a hosted payload on a number of platforms going to LEO, GEO, and Cislunar regimes, starting Q2 2023.

Hiranya "HJ" Jayakody Australia - Sydney, New South Wales

I started off as an electronics engineer (University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka), worked a bit in the telecommunication industry, and then moved on to do a PhD in mechatronics engineering at UNSW Sydney. For my PhD, I developed robust control algorithms which enhanced the performance of UAVs and space robots. After completing the PhD, I spent a year as a postdoctoral research fellow developing image processing solutions for the agricultural industry.

In 2016, my career took a turn when I co-founded HEO Robotics with Dr. William Crowe (www.heo-robotics.com), with the aim of imaging stuff in space by deploying cameras in space. We currently help commercial, government, and defence organisations to visually inspect their satellites and other space objects they care about using space-based camera systems.
