Jean-Louis is the co-founder and CEO of Future. He oversees overall strategy, forges new partnerships and grows Future’s rewards ecosystem, inspiring the shift to low-carbon products and services with outsized financial incentives.

Jean-Louis brings his experience as an entrepreneur to Future. As the Founding Principal and Managing Director of the BlackIvy Group, he was responsible for the company’s growth strategy and development of new businesses. Anchored in Ghana, Kenya and Tanzania, BlackIvy delivers life's essentials to consumers in Africa across health, housing, food and logistics.

Previously, Jean-Louis was a Senior Advisor in Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s office, focusing on emerging markets; a Senior Advisor at the Soros Economic Development Fund, the World Bank and S&P Global Ratings; and a researcher at the Economics Department at the University of Oxford. While still in high school, he helped built one of Europe’s largest and most enduring social movements in response to the war in Bosnia.

Jean-Louis has written on frontier markets for the Financial Times, New York Times and Harvard Business Review, including ‘Now is the Time to Invest in Africa’, co-written with Sir Paul Collier. He received his MSc from Oxford University, where he was awarded the George Webb Medley Prize in Economics.
