I am a CEO, software engineer, tech author, speaker, and ex-professor.
I am a founding member of dozens of Open Source projects including: Helm, CNAB, Krustlet, Brigade, Open Application Model, Glide, the PHP HTML5 parser, and QueryPath. I have contributed to over 200 open source projects spanning a dozen programming languages.
I've published several books since 2004, most recently "Learning Helm" (O'Reilly, 2020), "Go in Practice" (Mannning, 2017) and "The Illustrated Children's Guide to Kubernetes" (CNCF) series. I write technical articles on a regular basis. When I have a chance, I enjoy speaking at conferences.
I have taught graduate and undergraduate courses in both Computer Science and Philosophy. I am on the editorial board of the Journal of Science Fiction and Philosophy.
