Born 2001 in Sichuan, I left home at age 14 to study in New Zealand. During high school, I founded the largest Guqin school in NZ, gained around 10k readership for my WeChat blogs, and turned down a 5-million-RMB VC offer for an AI EdTech concept. I went to Cambridge as a first-gen student, and took courses on data science, neuroscience, social psychology, and evolution. During my degree, I organised ~30 events in college, and second-authored the most cited paper on PNAS Nexus, viewed more than a million times on X.

In 2022, I turned down a PhD offer in NLP from Cambridge to join Yonder Credit Card as its first (and until my departure, the only) ML & Data Scientist. There, I deployed machine learning systems that predict human behaviours. Alongside, I continued academic work, established a James K. He Research Fund to award interdisciplinary students, and was recognised by the UK Home Office with Global Talent status. To date, I have been cited by 100+ academic papers, and lead-authored one of the first papers that uses AI chatbots to simulate human societies.
