Beau Wangtrakuldee, PhDFounder
Founder & CEO of AmorSui, a modern protective apparel company with a mission to empower PPE wearers to perform their best at work, while staying safe and comfortable. We reimagine modern PPE for absolute premium quality, technical and functional designs for protection, and reusability. Our core protective gowns and lab jackets are static-resistant, protective against bodily fluids, reusable, and recyclable. AmorSui is a Techstars portfolio company participating in the 2020 Techstars Boston Accelerator.
Beau was previously a Venture Fellow at the alumni venture group of Chestnut Street Ventures, connecting UPenn alums to investments and funding that support a diverse portfolio of businesses. Prior to this role, Beau served as a senior associate in the biotechnology group at Korn Ferry and helped over 14 emerging companies excel through effective leadership development and executive search. Prior to Korn Ferry, Beau led R&D efforts for new prostate cancer therapies as a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Dr. Trevor M. Penning at the Perelman University of Pennsylvania Medical School. In addition to her R&D background, Beau has experience with consulting and intellectual property from multiple roles at the Wharton Penn Biotech Consulting Group (PBG) and Penn Center for Innovation (PCI).
Beau received her BA in Chemistry from Kalamazoo College, MI, and her Ph.D. and MS in Chemistry from Northern Illinois University. She is a participating founder of the 2020 UBS/Female Founder Collective Project Entrepreneur, and a recipient of the 2018 Future Starts Now grant from Birchbox, 2016 Young Investigator Award in Enzymology, and 2013 ACS-Younger Chemists Committee Leadership development award.
