Lisa Kaplan founded Alethea to build resiliency against disinformation through creating technology to detect, assess, and mitigate online manipulation. Previously, Kaplan served as the Digital Director on the Angus King for US Senate campaign, where she developed and implemented a proactive and defensive digital strategy to identify, understand, and respond to disinformation campaigns by analyzing social media and other relevant data to determine reach and impact on voters. She is among the first who can share first hand experience from the front lines.

Kaplan has briefed Members of Congress and congressional staff, advised senior US Government officials on disinformation, and facilitated conversations between EU/G7 partner nations. She writes for Brookings and Lawfare on countering disinformation and protecting democratic institutions, and has been featured on various media outlets, including the New York Times, WSJ, BBC, NPR, Axios, and MSNBC affiliates. She guest lectures at New York University and American University on disinformation and information operations.
