Heidelberg, Germany – Unikraft, a software development startup based in Heidelberg, Germany, has announced the completion of an undisclosed amount of seed funding. The round was led by some prominent investors to support the company’s mission to automatically build extremely efficient and secure software.
Founded by Felipe Huici, Unikraft is on a mission to make the software more efficient and secure. By tailoring the operating system, libraries, and tools to the particular needs of your application, it drastically reduces virtual machine and container image sizes to a few KBs – vastly cutting down your software stack's attack surface.
"We are thrilled to receive this investment which will help us develop our technology further and bring Unikraft closer to our vision," said Felipe Huici, co-founder at Unikraft. “By automating software building processes with Unikraft we can enable organizations that rely on low-latency applications for their operations or services such as financial trading and edge computing to run their workloads much faster."
The funds from this round will be used for hiring talent across engineering and sales departments as well as marketing activities. It also provides resources for expanding partnerships with cloud technology providers like Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure.
