Prana Thoracic is a Houston-based medical equipment manufacturing startup founded by Joanna Nathan, a team of surgeons, engineers, and entrepreneurs on a mission to tackle the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States: lung cancer. The startup has raised $3 million in Series A funding from investors, including New World Angels and Texas Medical Center Innovation, to develop their innovative ThoraCore™ System. The system is a minimally invasive, lung-sparing device that will provide physicians and patients with the certainty they need to move forward with treatment. 

Prana Thoracic aims to give physicians the opportunity to drive early intervention in lung cancer and improve workflow and treatment planning, giving patients definitive answers earlier in the progression of their disease when there is a higher likelihood of successful treatment. By minimizing the impact of excision on a patient's lung function and quality of life, while avoiding unnecessary surgery, Prana Thoracic's ThoraCore™ System promises to be a game-changer in the fight against lung cancer.
