Bolingbrook, IL - May 11, 2023 - Mycocycle, Inc., a waste treatment and disposal company that harnesses the power of fungi to reduce greenhouse gases and create new biobased raw materials, announced today that it has raised $2,200,000 in seed funding. The round was led by Alumni Ventures, with participation from TELUS Pollinator Fund for Good and Anthropocene Ventures.
Mycocycle was founded by Joanne Rodriguez, a visionary entrepreneur and environmentalist. The company has developed and licensed a proprietary process that uses mushrooms to break down industrial waste, removing harmful toxins and creating value within the circular economy. The process mitigates risk for manufacturers, governments, and waste operators by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and creating new raw materials from waste.
With the funds raised in this round, Mycocycle plans to accelerate the development and commercialization of its technology, expand its team, and increase its marketing and sales efforts.
"We're thrilled to have the support of such experienced and visionary investors," said Joanne Rodriguez, founder of Mycocycle. "Their investment will enable us to take our technology to the next level and make a real impact on the environment."
