The company was established in 2004 with the opening of Momofuku Noodle Bar and has since expanded to include restaurants in major cities worldwide, such as New York City, Sydney, Washington, DC, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Toronto.

Momofuku is known for its innovative take on cuisine and commitment to supporting local, sustainable, and responsible farmers and food purveyors. The company's flagship restaurant, Momofuku Ko, has won numerous awards, including two Michelin stars and a place on the list of S.Pellegrino World's Best Restaurants.

In addition to its restaurants, Momofuku has also expanded its offerings to include Milk Bar, a bakery with multiple locations throughout major cities, and Nikai, a bar.
