SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Function Oncology, a biotechnology research company based in San Diego, has raised $28 million in a Series A funding round led by Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc., Casdin Capital, LLC, S32, and a16z Bio + Health.
Function Oncology is a precision medicine company that has developed a CRISPR-powered personalized functional genomics platform to gain an unprecedented understanding of cancer at the patient-specific level. The company's technology moves beyond traditional gene sequencing to measure gene function, allowing for the identification of optimal therapeutic opportunities for patients and the development of targeted cancer therapies.
