San Francisco, California - Companion, the world's first device that interacts with dogs at home for hours a day, announced today that it has raised $6 million in funding from investors Lerer Hippeau and Digitalis Ventures.
Companion is designed to provide dogs with the playtime and attention they need and deserve, even when their owners are not home. The device uses cutting-edge hardware, machine learning, responsive software, and positive reinforcement techniques to engage dogs in interactive games and basic obedience practices. Companion's AI software is also capable of detecting sudden or subtle changes in a dog's movement or routine, offering warnings and alerts to possible conditions that may require early intervention.
"We're thrilled to have the support of Lerer Hippeau and Digitalis Ventures as we continue to advance the field of canine enrichment and care," said John Honchariw, Founder of Companion. "Our team has spent years researching and developing a device that can provide dogs with hours of engagement and learning, and we're excited to bring this technology to more homes."
