Andrena, a New York-based telecommunication company whose mission is to provide next-gen internet access and affordable broadband connectivity to all Americans, announced today that it had secured $15 million in Series A funding from top-tier investors.

Dragonfly Capital led the funding with participation from existing investors Afore Capital, FJ Labs, Castle Island Ventures, Chaos Ventures, KohFounders, and J Ventures, and new investors Blockchange Ventures, Moonshot Research, and EV3.

Andrena provides Wi-Fi connectivity in places where traditional cable and DSL technologies have failed. It has made it easy for the entire community to enjoy high-speed broadband connectivity at no cost. Andrena's WiFi service is delivered through a single antenna at each location. Each antenna is an innovative and disruptive new wireless technology capable of providing high-quality connectivity.

Andrena was founded by Neil Chatterjee, who envisioned creating a product allowing individuals and organizations to connect remotely. Andrena's goal is to close the digital divide by providing access to the internet to those who need it the most – in this case, rural America.
