India-based Mobile Premier League (MPL) has raised $20,000,000 in a Series A funding round led by Sequoia Capital, Steadview Capital, and Truecaller. The funding will be used to scale MPL's platform and strengthen its position in the global mobile esports industry.
Founded in 2018 by Shubh Malhotra, MPL is the world's leading mobile esports platform, offering users the opportunity to participate in free and paid competitions across 60+ games in multiple categories, including fantasy sports, sports games, puzzles, casual, and board games. The platform is trusted by over 90 million registered users across Asia, Europe, and North America and hosts hundreds of millions of tournaments a month.
