Inarix, the agric-tech start-up developing a tool to measure crop quality and value, has raised $3.2 million in a seed funding round led by Newfund and co-led by Ankaa Ventures, Alliance for impact, Resiliance and Label Investments.
Inarix, launched in 2018 by Pierre Chapelle in Paris, allows users to take a picture of their crops with their smartphone and receive real-time crop qualification results. Users can then use these results to make informed decisions about the value of crops they have on hand. Using artificial intelligence to conduct this crop analysis, Inarix provides its users with a multicriteria measurement solution, replacing time-consuming actions from several machines with a single fast smartphone.
"With its AI-based technology, Inarix is disrupting a critical sector like crop and agricultural product analysis," said Jonathan Cohen-Sabban of Ankaa Ventures. "The easy scalability of its solution allows all the players along the value chain, from farmers to end-clients, to reduce waste and guarantee the overall quality of agricultural products. We are honoured to support the company's goal of improving food security and sustainability."
